On this page, you can read about my career in the ICT world, where I would to emphasize the more than 20 years in international projects, especially in implementation projects of software, hardware, and telecommunications in international environments, also in transformation projects of all information systems of the company and in e-commerce projects. 

 

Head of Information Technology - Group CIO from January 2021 in Molteni Group, the leading industrial group in the high-end furniture sector, managing brands Molteni & C (furniture), Dada (kitchens), UniFor (office furniture), and Citterio (office partitions). The Molteni group has 4 production sites in Italy with 201,000 square meters, 15 branches all over the world, and owns stores in Paris, London, and New York. In addition, the Contract Division works over particular needs, such as cruise ships, hotels, and residences around the world.

I manage the group information systems department, defining its future strategy. Some examples:

  • Development of synergies and best practices within the group to standardize systems, budgets and reduce costs
  • Integration of all branch offices under one ERP (Acumatica), to allows managing the local Retail and Contract businesses
  • Processes analysis and software development for manage the Contract Division, which works on MTO modality
  • Analysis of the data to improve the reporting (Qlik) and Data Warehouse system
  • Cyber-Security assessment and remediation actions
  • Production Digitalization: MES implementation with an interface to all 4.0 machines in production

 

Manager of Information Systems and Organization (CIO), (July 2015 - January 2021) in Dedar Group & Faubourg (Hermès Group - Paris)  both working on the production of excellent fabrics, curtains, and wallpapers, used in luxury design for interiors.

I manage the Department of Information Systems and Organization, both for the headquarters in Italy and for branches and showrooms in France, United States, Germany, UK, Russia, Japan, and Dubai. The department offers ICT services that allow business growth and transformation through technological innovation.

My first task was to create the Department from scratch, so I developed these three main points:

  • I have defined an Organization divided into the Application Area, which deals with Business Processes and the applications that support them, and Technical Area which innovates in infrastructures, telecom, and Service Desk.
  • I have created a Strategy in order to always allow all our users to develop their work with all the necessary information.
  • I have implemented a Methodology of work involving People, Processes, and Technology to allows us to collect requests and develop them, providing ever feedback to our users.

With these main active points, I was able to develop successful projects such as:

  • New ERP & PLM system for the group implementation between 2015 and 2020 and CRM between 2019 and 2020. In the beginning, I was in charge to map and update all business processes, drafting the Business Requirements to create the Request for Proposal for the software and partners' selection, and negotiating the Contract Agreement with the partner. To complete the project, I’m in charge of Blueprints validation, installing the environments and load the data, supervising user acceptance tests and training, and at last the cutover plan.
  • Digital Transformation: To share with our customers our processes and information; using web service, e-commerce, App, CRM services.
  • Logistics: Integration of ERP and WMS to use systems of vertical automated warehouse, Automatic Guided Vehicle, RFID, lift systems, PLC, and packing line in an 8.000m2 warehouse

 

Head of Technology and Innovation (CTO) (March 2011 - April 2015) in LEROY MERLIN Italy, retail DIY company.

As a Technical Manager, I managed the team that, for the headquarters (Milano) and for the 47 stores in Italy, has collaborated in the transformation from multichannel to cross-channel company, that guarantee the collaboration among Sales (stores, e-commerce, call center), Distribution (logistics, transport, and delivery) and Communication (marketing, internet), to offer homogeneity and coherence to our customers in all phases of purchase in all possible channels.

Within this process of business transformation and the company's reorganization, I would distinguish from my work:

  • Processes: I selected and implemented an ESB middleware system (Software AG), which allowed us to implement an SOA architecture in all our services and to map, model, and monitor all our processes.
  • Supply Chain: I defined the processes and implemented a new WMS (Manhattan Associates) for our central warehouse, which allowed us to work in cross-docking with all the products.
  • e-Commerce: To launch the e-commerce site, I decided to create a Hybrid Cloud, which connects the Amazon Public Cloud, with production servers in the Private Cloud, to guarantee the availability of info in products, stocks & payments. This e-commerce project allowed me to win the "Cloud Innovation Award" at the Milan Polytechnic in 2013.
  • Call Center: I have selected and implemented a virtual call center with IVR and CTI (Genesys) for e-commerce customers who redirect the call to the 47 stores, also defining a system to purchase by telephone.
  • Infrastructures: After doing a report of business impact analysis of applications (BIA) I projected a Private Cloud where to split the applications into three Data Centers: one with sales support and cash’s applications in the stores, another with the core business applications in outsourcing in Milan and the last one in France; to guarantee high availability.
  • International Strategy: Attending ADEO’s meetings to define the Information Systems strategy in all business units.
